Internet...

Hello friends,    Good morning.  It's my pleasure and thanks for giving me an opportunity for being in front of you all.  When we were asked to present a topic, I was quite perplexed to choose a topic which will best suit to the current scenario.  We all know that we are in the modern sophisticated scientific era.  As the human kind grows, the technology also grows with us.  When a new invention comes in to the world, there are always pros & cons attached to it.  I would like to pick up a specific topic and discuss it in front of you all. It's none other than the INTERNET.   We all know that, Internet is the most emerging technology which has now occupied in almost all of our houses.  Internet is nothing but, computers connected worldwide via a network that is used for data transmission and exchange.   We can also say, internet has shrunk the world.  Just think about our grand parent’s generation.  Just to drop a letter to a near by town, it took almost 2-3 days of time to reach the other person.  But in the internet era, when we click the send button, it just goes within a minute irrespective of the distance. 

Nowadays going abroad has become like going to a near by town.  So, how do people communicate each other?  Internet is the easiest and cheapest mode for it.   You should have heard about web camera also.  It's again a face to face communication technique.  Ok.  Apart from communication what and all we have in internet.  We have tons and tons of information loaded in the internet. For e.g., If I want to know about the Solar System, I can just type and word, solar system in the internet and it will give me lots of pages related to Solar system.  So, it's also an information bank.  Also, we can keep in touch with our friends though they are away from us.  Data can be shared across countries.  In India software industry is the most emerging industry in the recent times.  All the developed countries outsource their work and get it done in India.  It's all possible only through Internet.  As I told before, every coin has two sides.  Likewise, there are also lots of disadvantages over the internet.  Hackers over the net spread virus in the internet, which spoils the computer data.  They also hack the confidential data used in the net.  There are also no restrictions browsing the internet.  Children are prone to distract with the pornographic pictures which may affect their future. With this short summary, I would like to wind up the topic now.  Despite of having good or bad, I would like you all to see the advantages more than the disadvantages.  Thank you all once again.
